When an electric shutter or gate suddenly has a problem, there are a few things you can check yourself before calling a technician. Below is divided into “things you can try yourself” and “recommended for professional handling.”

Things you can try yourself

Remote control pressed but no response

Usually a minor issue—try in this order:

  1. Replace the remote control battery
  2. Try the wired wall switch instead
  3. Check whether the “lock” button on the remote was pressed by accident, then unlock
  4. Wait about 20 minutes and try again (the unit may have triggered thermal protection; it recovers automatically after cooling)

If there is still no response after trying all of the above, contact a distributor or headquarters and have a professional check on site.

Motor sometimes works, sometimes does not

If the remote sometimes responds and sometimes does not, first check the aerial connector between the remote receiver and the motor:

  1. Unplug the connector
  2. Check whether the metal pins are bent, deformed, or dirty
  3. If nothing looks wrong, carefully plug it back in
  4. Test operation again

If the problem continues after this, contact the manufacturer or a distributor and have a professional perform further on-site inspection.

The following issues should go straight to a professional

Troubleshooting the issues below involves part adjustment or replacement and is not recommended for DIY. Improper handling may cause secondary damage or safety risks:
