Not always. Common faults include a dead remote, solenoid issues, limit-switch failure, wiring problems, or a broken chain — some parts can be replaced alone. If the motor is old or parts are unavailable, replace the full shutter motor. GEPIN offers GP300–GP2000 and matching parts.

DC Smart has a protection system that stops automatically on unusual resistance. That is normal safety design — but if the gate mechanics already bind, the protection will trip often, leaving the gate stuck; in severe cases it can burn the control board.
